The following tutorial is based primarily on two other guides, the Blackbird and the forum Cellularland. (Serves registration)
Following this process step by step you can update an iPhone with firmware 1.1.1 already unlocked and activated or even an iPhone 1.1.1 OOTB (OutOfTheBox).

With this procedure it is possible to activate and release iPhone with firmware 1.1.1 without the need for any computer but simply working on the phone.
